2019 ladder prediction for the swans

    I think 9th and Iā€™m a ridiculously positive person šŸ˜‚

We have gone backwards vs bombers, hawks, north etc in trade week and I think north and the bombers can push ahead of us in 2019

Unless steven May joined tomorrow last day of trade ie a player who would make a significant difference to our best 18.

For me a player such as steven May can sure up 2 more wins but equally leaves us vulnerable to a couple more losses with out such a strong defender

If this happens we could hold 6/7th

Bit sad really that we have not improved our list in alignment with our serious competitors in and around the top8

The other teams have and executed

Depends on injuries to key players, in particular Reid, Buddy, Naismith and Sinclair.

Keep all of them on the park and we will have a good crack at the flag. Lose one or two and we will struggle to make the 8.

We need big improvement from players like Jones, Mills, Haywood, Heeney and Florent.

    My prediction, 1st

    Way too early to predict

I think next year could well be the first time the Swans miss finals under Longmire.

I was all for dropping all the underperforming oldies this year - Jack, Hanners etc - and replacing them with younger players. But that happened by default and we lost a load of games. I now realise the club needs to keep a certain number of experienced players if its to be competitive. Because we've lost experienced players 25-28 and not replaced them in the trade period so far (there is one day left) I think our best 22 may be too young / inexperienced.

Against that, the coaches are backing in Jones, Mills and Clarke to take over in the midfield. And we should get a number of really important players back - Reid, Mills, Melican, Naismith, a fit Buddy.

But I still think we will be found out in the midfield and are a couple of A grade players short.

    Where is O'Riordan at?

I thought he was good in his senior appearances and would take a HB role freeing up Mills/Jones, but the coaches seem to disagree. He's 24 next year.

It is possible the improvement from last year will come from within - Reid, Melican, Dawson, O'Riordan....

There were alot of under 22's carrying a big load last year.

    No chance of missing finals.
My prediction is that we will finish first.
    Minor premiers and then premiers.

If we have a good run with injuries.....top four, if we don't......5th-8th. We won't miss finals.

We should beat The Suns next year, surely.

List is good enough for top 4. Game style is 5-10 and an early exit if we make top 8.

This is a given. Surprised there is even a debate (thread) about it.
