Yes, that rumour has been around for a while. I think the Pies will only do it if they get him for very little and don't have to pay him the big bucks. It would be a good move for Mitchell as his new coach does not seem to want him and the Pies are much closer to their premiership window than the Hawks. He is running out of time in his career and he knows it!

Lengthy interview with Josh Kennedy on club website is really worth watching. Outstanding individual. Conducted by Gerard Healy at Club Champion function.

Tom Mitchell emulating his father in playing for 3 clubs, 2 of them in common in the Swans and Collingwood, albeit in different order.

It's called follow the money. Maybe his Hawthorn contract was heavily front ended and he would be playing for peanuts if he stayed with Hawthorn in 2023.

It makes eminent sense for Mitchell to go to the Pies - he effectively extends the term of his high paying contract at Hawthorn and moves to a Club likely to play finals next season. He doesn't even have to move house! I don't think he has much club loyalty so that makes it easy to do too.

    I hear Ratten is available.

Maybe Pennant Hills old boy Mark.McVeig might be of interest to the Swans . Or Dan Hannebury. Either one would be a step.up from Laidler!!!!

One of the existing panel of assistants might relish the idea of coaching their own team for a year or so, especially if they have ambitions to one day be a senior coach. I suspect McVeigh does. Wouldn't have a clue about the rest.

Or maybe Kirk fancies the idea of moving back into coaching from his current welfare-focused role.
