A couple of nice cameos by McInerney in that quarter. Cunningham seems to have come back in fine shape. Also pleased that Lloyd wasn't injured, by what appeared to be a Mumford knee to the ribs.

Loves mills tenacity and fight for the ball
Just needs to work in on angles a little more and remember to look over his open side shoulder before hitting the contest
It was leaving him with short handballs to team mates under pressure turned into the contest rather then finding team mates who can turn into space
It has always been a weak point for mills but he has so much potential to improve this key area

Don't think we've taken advantage of the new kick-in rules so far.
Fox has been good too
McInerney made a very basic error gathered the ball on his right side 20 metres out should have kept running straight and would have snapped a goal on his right leg but instead he changed direction slightly and got tackled by two players. Had he broken the tackles he would of either had to snap with his left leg or straightened up again to kick with his right.
Full Time 76-52 Goals Papley 3, Blakey 3, Cunningham 2, Hayward 2, Pink, Dawson
Very encouraging practice match (what I saw - damn work). We have much to be optimistic about this year if we have as many as possible of our full squad available. I'm tipping Clarke, Blakey and O'Riordan to all be in selected 22 for round one (if fit).

Giants: Lloyd 2, Perryman, Reid, Taranto, Sproule, Daniels
Why no Reid? Why no McCartin? I didn't know they were injured. I certainly hope they aren't. Buddy and Menzel already out for the time being. Would have been interested to see how they went next to Blakey.
How did Maibaum go? And Melican? Can't wait to see a replay.
Disappointing to hear Mumford hit Hewett high off the ball: Watch: Mummy's back, but is he in Match Review trouble? - AFL.com.au. I hope Hewett wasn't injured. Nothing to suggest he was. Any injury reports at all?
A match report mentioned that Mummy dominated Cameron in the ruck. That's a great learning experience for Darcy and I hope it will just motivate him to get better, stronger, more aggressive and learn to use his own size to advantage.
