    Jack Maibaum injures his ACL.

    Maibaum injures ACL - sydneyswans.com.au

Sydney Swans defender Jack Maibaum will consult a specialist after injuring his ACL.The 20-year-old suffered the injury during a training session at Henson Park last week.

Disappointing news for Jack. Might explain Pink playing in defence on Saturday.

According to Jake Niall, we have an option of adding another player on our list before the March 15 deadline.

Gee that is really bad news. I thought he played very well in the intra club game and was impressed with his efforts.

I thought we would have already had that option with the Tippett situation.

My suggestions, just off the top of my head:

    1. Abe Davis
    2. Tom Derickx
    3. Tony Olango (if he's out of prison).

Terrible news for Maibaum who I thought looked quite good in the practice game against GWS.

Maybe there wasn't an obvious list need before. Remains to be seen whether the club thinks there's a state league defender capable of coming in and providing cover now that a specific position is one down for the season. They may well want to let the season unfold and see if anyone emerges within the state leagues, rather than guess right now.

If it's positive for anyone, that someone might be Pink. I've made this comment before, but I think he has buckley's chance of making it at AFL level as a key forward but there's a chance he could find a role as a defender. I expect he'll get shifted there for the remainder of the season (in the NEAFL) and we'll see whether he shows he might have what it takes.

If we are able to find another player I would suggest a decent tap ruckman is in order.

I think Pink has a good set of all round skills and could make a reasonable forward (whether or not as a kpp) or even a midfielder. He has good pace, is a good kick, handball is good , has good awareness, reads the play well and his only problem has been that he was a bit undersized for a key forward. He has now stacked on a number of kilos and I look forward to seeing where he settles down.
We have them where we want them, everything is going according to plan!

We can only take another player if we have salary cap space. Wonder how tight we are this year? We already increased the list by one to 39.

Sorry Ludwig but Derickx is too busy being a supermodel. He is walking the catwalk for David Jones tonight at Melbourne fashion week.

Terrible news about Maibaum. I was thinking our injury luck was improving after the McCartin news but unfortunately not 😞.

I was hoping that Maibaum would debut at some point this year. If we can't get the great Derickx then maybe the Cheese can make a comeback?

Seriously, if he hasn't found another career, why not give Brendon Goddard a one year deal?
