RIP Ian
"Fortunately, this is the internet, so knowing nothing is no obstacle to having an opinion!." Beerman 18-07-2017
RWO is lessened by his departure. Very sad.
Loose translation from the Latin is - I am tall, so I hit out.
Sad news - I used to sit with ORB in the old MA Noble - haven’t seen him for about 4 years but he battled hard against cancer and retired down south - we shared a couple of grand final day breakfasts at Sweethearts in south Melbourne - I’m sure he’ll keep yelling hard for the boys.
Oh Old Toy Boy Roy!!!
How sad. I met up with him a few times. A lovely man.
My condolences to his family.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
Weird, I joined September 2003 and thought Ian joined earlier - his knowledge of AFL was certainly lightyears ahead of mine. Catching up for a beer after a day game was one of the highlights of my early Swans years. We won Swans' Trivia together, too, with many long time RWO-ers.
Lovely bloke, met him at a function long ago. He knew his football, and I was glad to hear him.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
Always enjoyed his posts and opinions. Sad news.
