Yes, though they might argue that playing games is an essential activity for the survival of the NRL? Some of the NRL talking heads have been suggesting that the competition may fold, if they can't play enough games. I'm not sure if that's likely to happen? But maybe the NRL (and the AFL) will have to have a few rebuilding seasons, where pretty well everybody takes a pay cut and the competition budget is more like Australian soccer or rugby union?

    Why not just say that!
Yes, if only the internet was running the world.

time for us to develop and grow and be in alignment with all other work places and that is being respectful to minimising the spread of coronavirus
We will not be developing the squad as all training is also suspended until at least May 31. My take is that it will be for all of the rest of 2020.

That will show how serious the issue is and how foolhardy it was of the AFL to even attempt to start a season. Forget the meatheads in Rugby League, they will be ordered to suspend. Unfortunately Australia has collectively dithered for a month when they could have taken action and prevented this crisis from being so severe. Guess that if that had been done and we averted the catastrophe that is coming then some would say it was over reacting.

This is going to cost the AFL many millions of dollars. It will take a long time to recover if ever. It could also spell the end for the AFLW if they can't afford to fund it next year .

The game will recover. The AFL as an entity may not - but if it disappears, something will rise from the ashes to replace it.

Might be top 8 at seasons end given it may not get underway again.

Not quite sure what you mean by the game will recover.

Lets play forward the idea that the AFL disolves due to bankruptcy. This will no doubt take a few clubs with it, with all us northern clubs very vunerable financially. And probably a few other clubs who are just at the wrong economic cycle to ride this out.
What will the new Aussie rules league look like. What teams will compete in it ?

Swans arent in a great position financially, even in a normal year:
2019: The Sydney Swans have reported a net operating loss of $509,625 for the year ending October 31, 2019. Net assets were $2,201,819.

Remind me...how did we get Pick 4?

Would a year off aid or hinder Buddy? What about players probably in their last season like Ablett and Burgoyne, would they go round again in 2021 if that season is on?

What form will the National Draft take given there's likely to be no U18 form to go on? We'll have pick 4. Will the AFL bite the bullet and use the crisis to push the draft age to 19 with this years draft having none of the U18 crop?

    Lots of questions, no answers!

In the absence of a usable season this year, they will use last years finishing order, we were 15th, no GC PP this year, so we have pick 4
