When is the AFLPA going to come out & defend the WA&SA clubs players possibly being pushed into hubs like what’s happened for Cotch n the boys?
The days of having your sport and despising another sport is dieing. Young people these days will look at you bemused and think your some old guy yelling at clouds thinking like that.
Young People watch Aussie rules, NFL, MLB, premier league, NRL, UFC, NBA etc all the time. They appreciate it & love all of it.
When you look at the figures you can definitely see why the SA & WA governments will not open the borders for Victorian sides. Their community transmission is not great as well as the regular rise In active cases all week.
6,913 Coronavirus (COVID-19) Cases and 742 Active in Australia - COVID LIVE
As much as the commentary from the media is “it’ll be different come the start of the season” I can’t see them getting to that point in the middle of June.
A growth of 73 active cases in a week. Community transmission growth of 17 in the same period.
For the sake of the state and people I truly do hope they get it under control.

If the WA & SA clubs are expected to go into hubs. Will other clubs be required to do the same for a fair even playing field like the limit on 2 training rule so that everyone are in the same situation.
Only WA needs a hub.
SA sides given a vague should be ok to fly out and back into SA again without 14 isolation on the basis they're only mixing with AFL players who have been cleared no virus prior to game time. SA open to visiting teams if their state gets cases under control which is not happening in Vic!
In theory yes in practice what your saying is with a limited pre-season SA clubs will be expected to be on the road for an extended period. Can’t travel to WA, NSW or Vic. After the Queensland clubs what next? Which will then hamper their recovery a lot. Which will lead to a lot of injuries.
And as Gill said “What we’ve said for equity, training won’t start until each state has agreed they can go to Level B so that we actually start together,” AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan told Fox Footy Live
So for equity why would sides be expected to enter a hub but others can live as per normal.
Clarifying - SA will not at this stage allow interstate teams into SA but the two SA teams are allowed to travel interstate for games and won't have to do the mandatory 14 day quarantine when they return each week from games.
This is different to WA who won't let WCE & Freo back into WA unless they do a 14 day quarantine. That's why they need to hub it in an eastern state. If they're smart they'll camp in Qld and avoid the Melb weather!
So early on all Crows and Port games will be in the eastern states.
