Thread: Sam Naismith

Thanks for sharing, liz. Good article. I felt quite moved reading it, as my sister also had pancreatic cancer.

I was among those writing off Naismith's career but I am reconsidering. Part of my reason for saying that was I didn't think he would be able to play the beginning of next season. But, if he can, that puts a different complexion on the matter. He's a nice guy and I like his bromance with Fox. Plus, we desperately need what he offers when he's fit!

He seems like a great guy, and its a shame that injuries have cruelled his career, but this is a real blind spot for Longmire.

Even if he can get on the park for the beginning of next season (and the odds would be against it given his injury history), its extremely unlikely that he'll ever be durable enough to play a full season.

We might as well have Daniel Currie on our list still.

I happy to give them the benefit of the doubt while we wait to see what they do with the ruck position over the off season. If we go into next season with bloody Sinclair and Naismith then I agree criticism is warranted.

Next year, Sinclair should be the fourth option behind:
    - recruit X
    - Naismith
    - Aliir.

Very interested to see what they do this week. If Amartey is out injured, but they don't bring Sinclair in, that could be a bit of a tell.

If Knoll has built up his fitness enough, after recovering from injury, then I wouldn't mind seeing how he goes. He definitely improved during last year's NEAFL and apparently he was flying during the preseason.
