Campbell may become a very good to great AFL player in time (or he may not). In a few years time, he might be rated more highly than Rowell (or he might not). But he's nothing like as ready to go as Rowell was this time last year. He hasn't shown the same ability to accumulate possessions at will, and isn't as physically developed as Rowell is (and was this time last year). Rowell was through directly into the Suns' on-ball brigade, and accumulated nine Brownlow votes in four games. The fact that the Swans plan to play Campbell off half-back to start with indicates he is nothing like as physically ready for the really tough stuff around the ball.
