    2021 fixture

The first 6 rounds of next year's fixture have been released: Football returns to the SCG

    Highlights include:

    - Five Saturday games in the first six rounds - if they're are afternoon games, we're laughing! Even if they're not, it's ok. Hope that keeps up.
    - First home game is against the Crows in Round 2. Would have been nice to have a stronger opponent for an important return to play.

    - A Thursday night school holiday blockbuster against Essendon at the SCG

    - Six games in Melbourne - excellent for our Victorian members and fans!
    - Return clashes against St Kilda, GWS, Fremantle, Essendon and the Gold Coast Suns - That's pretty reasonable. It's a 2-2-1 [bottom/middle/top teams] fixture - albeit the two highest rated bottom 6 sides (Suns & Essendon). I think Essendon will be bottom 6 again next year but no sure about the Suns. Still Suns and Freo are both young teams on the rise like us, so could help a bit of a rivalry develop. I was hoping to double up against the Hawks - I'd love to soundly beat them twice next year.
    - Marn Grook at the SCG against Carlton in Round 11 - dunno about Carlton but glad Marn Grook will be at home.
As my mate said to me yesterday (hello Mick!), we've gotta figure out how to turn the SCG into a fortress (again?) so that home games are an advantage for us.

According to Fox Sports (AFL fixture 2021: Club-by-club fixture, analysis, winners and losers, easiest and hardest fixtures, schedule, latest news | Fox Sports) , The average percentage of our double-up opponents will be 95.06 making ours the third-easiest. Essesdon is ranked easiest and Hawthorn second-easiest.

"Every chance for a quick rebound up the ladder with a pretty kind set of double-up opponents... if they’re still in contention heading into the last month of the season, a final four of Bombers-Saints-Kangaroos-Suns isn’t exactly brutal."

    Doubled-up games:

    St Kilda 6th
    GWS 10th
    Fremantle 12th
    Essendon 13th
    Gold Coast Suns 14th

1-2-2 (1-6, 7-12, 13-18), but no doubled up games against bottom four sides. This is balanced by no doubled-up games against any top four sides either.

I work on Saturdays till 3 pm so not happy personally with 3 lots of 1.45 starts in 6 weeks. its the ONLY time that's not good for me. but is good for NSW based families.

Slightly revamped schedule for the cheeky chap fans out there.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Round one at the Gabba and round six at Metricon. I'm happy.

Definitely the best draw we have had for many years. We play Brisbane and Richmond early in the season (1-3) and often they don't hit top gear until later on in the season, plus Geelong once at the SCG. We have to double play Fremantle who could look set to improve and St Kilda they may keep on improving. But overall its a very good draw.

Who we have to play twice could have been far worse.

That's a pretty good draw. I like playing StKilda twice because I can't see them improving. Marvel is our best venue so 4 games is a bonus. Just want to beat The Injectors there to shut up their obnoxious supporters.
