Campbelltown officially announce their merger with South West this morning. Good decision.
Any intel on whether they will be based out of Monarch Oval or Rosedale Oval? Or combine the two?

The Under 19s have moved back and forth between the two venues for a few years, I guess all grades would be doing the same.
If they can get this right, they'll be up there with the leading contenders in Platinum Division.
A logical decision - well done to both clubs. Geographically Campbelltown is really Macquarie Fields and their proximately to Rosedale means both clubs naturally compete for areas like Hoxton Park, Casula and even Liverpool.
This now means that areas such as the Campbelltown Centre and Eaglevale should see Camden as their destination club.
With Camden dropping back to Platinum this really strengthens AFL in this region - IMO.
You’re a peanut Tom.
You live in your little private school Uni world where you take it as a given that Sydney uni will dominate year in year out by poaching the best kids in Sydney.
You have no concern for the game outside your little privileged bubble.
How can it possibly be good for the game that a vast area of Sydney can only support two teams?
Despite the AFL pouring millions of GWS dollars into GWS the game has never been weaker in the west than it is now.
Camden are a joke, will barely make it through the season. Any people left In Campbelltown who remember Mathieson, Podbury and the Noacks must be wondering how it came to this.
And you dare say it’s a good thing!!!
The game of AFL in Sydney is going down the road of Union and being the preserve of the upper middle class in the Eastern Suburbs, North Shore, Shire and the Bible Belt.
That the game is in such a parlous state after hundreds of millions of investment in GWS is nothing less than a disgrace
The three players you mentioned all played at elsewhere, Rod at Bankstown, Russell and Ellis at Southern Districts/Liverpool before eventually playing at Campbelltown.
Maybe if you knew more about the history of the the clubs and what the new entity is working to achieve you would understand why people see it as a logical decision.
Wow Wombling, where did that come from. Talk about playing the man. You joined two months ago but know everything about Sydney footy and obviously everything about me.
Sydney Footy is growing through strong, healthy (large clubs). It's not necessarily about the number of clubs, but clubs being large, supportive, welcoming environments where the workload is shared amongst volunteers and players can find the team that meets their ability and interest level.
The merger of South-West and Campbelltown has the potential to create that.
Wombling now, please come back with some facts or strategies to grow that game; even though I did laugh at the opening insults, there was no substance to your post, and maybe no substance to you as you are probably a long term poster hiding behind a new name.
Ellis was from Ariah Park and played at Easts, St George, South Sydney, Newtown, Southern Districts and then Campbelltown. Boxer Also played at Penno before going to C-Town. Will definitely be a good thing moving forward though, the people running both clubs have been putting in a lot of work over the last 5 or more years building relationships with all the junior clubs in the Greater Western Sydney area. More than can be said than for some others😉
Colesy, will the new venture be fostering the partnership with Blue Mountains? For the life of me, I cannot figure out the logistics behind that decision to travel to Mac Fields rather than one of the closer clubs like us or Penrith. Well, I know why they didn't go with us but that particular party is no longer there.
