Harley has too much integrity to be head of the VFL.
Agree. Can’t see how someone with this corporate baggage could possibly have been considered appropriate for the job. His assistant also defrauded the bank of some millions of dollars as well, so his oversight was as appalling as his ethics. Have also thought he should have gone to goal, but I’m a disgruntled NAB customer.

For the record, Lyon had 12 month to run on his contract at the Saints but used a slippery get out clause to exit when the Saints took ages to offer him an extension.

Hard as nails but would probably need to mellow a bit in this day and age. Home truths not as palatable as they used to be. Longmire seems to strike the right balance between honesty and empathy with guys a lot younger than himself.
From what I've heard, Harley may have been interested in the AFL CEO role but has not got it. However, what I can't help but wonder is whether he might go for the position recently vacated by Brad Scott: Head of Footy Operations (or whatever it's called).
