Regardless of how it turns out for the McCartins filling both there spots in the 22 has to be a priority? We just can’t leave ourselves exposed like this each season and trusting them to be available each week would seem a bad move maybe we just need to cut them lose (with support out of football)

As well as KPDs, we're also in the need of a tall big bodied midfielder, in the mould of JPK. They don't grow on trees & not aware if there any potential prospects in the upcoming MSD?

Our injury plight this year has exposed deficiencies in our list we perhaps didn't expect to happen so soon.

Hope we can snare HH & draft gold nuggets!

Luke Parker has had some big games recently, but he is getting on in age too, and 2025 is his last contracted year. He may decline next year and in 2025.

    need both and then some

but it is how we set up to maximise turnovers from these centre clearances that count most when it comes to minimising the opposition scoreboard hurt and our ability to go back the other way

We have massive deficiencies we are dealing with right now in our backline and we are vulnerable with out our 3 best talls in the backs

    very vulnerable and somewhat brittle

we are truly liable to break easy in the backline with enough smarts and skill from the opposition

thats just reality right now and bloody hard to reverse until we gather the forces back into the best 22

Ps that is not me backing away from feeling we should have had a great balance between trades and drafting last two years

I have been quite vocal on that last few years and that strategy has challenged quite strongly but some of the most vocal on this site

But at the same time I never ever would have thought Chad Warner would achieve what he has from year 2 onwards

I have been sitting in the fence with Roberts and sheldrick and Konstanty also

    So they could surprise……..either way

And another Lloyd, Rampe, Paps, Fox etc could be unearthed outside of the big time draft picks etc

It certainly is possible with McAndrews as his trajectory could surprise us all and could become a force to be reckoned with

Maybe Stephens who has showed a few hints of being dominant and or should who is getting a taste could leapfrog also after enough time

A closer look at how injuries to Sydney's key defenders in 2023 has exposed its midfield strategy (Bloods run cold: Numbers reveal what's ailing Sydney Swans midfield in 2023?) Some numbers to show how our recruiting reflected our mid field performance.

    - buddy retiring will clear up half a million in the cap

    - TDK would be our number 1 ruck, but hard to see the club fork out $800k/year for him
    - houses are 30% more expensive in Sydney v Melbourne, means our contracts have a premium on them

Seriously, it was ChatGPT on the piss and with a tabloid twist.

I hope we get Tom De koning from Carlton. He would absolutely thrive at the swans
