It's interesting that they see a banana as proof of skill, yet no-one mentions the disappearance of it's parent, the torpedo. Using a banana to shoot for goal is acceptable yet coaches see the torp as high-risk and to be avoided.

I've always known the kick off the inside as a screw kick, and the outside as a banana kick. Both have completely legitimate uses when you're trying to bend a ball "around corners". For most players a right foot banana is easier than a left foot screw kick.

Speaking of non-natural foot/hand use (in a non-pornographic sense), did anyone see Ricciuto's left hand hadball that covered 30m the other day? Most (and I mean about 80%) AFL players don't seem to be able to use their non-natural hand for a handball so Roo's effort highlights his class.

Voss also prefers to handball with his left hand.

I saw Cam Mooney do a 30m handball against Port.

I've always been taught many coaches at footy training that the check side was off the outside of the foot, and the inside a banana... its not only my belief but also others that I know that have played footy for some time now.
    - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!
