It's interesting that they see a banana as proof of skill, yet no-one mentions the disappearance of it's parent, the torpedo. Using a banana to shoot for goal is acceptable yet coaches see the torp as high-risk and to be avoided.Originally posted by NMWBloods
Most players kick bananas because they can't kick wrong foot. Commentators rave about how skillful their boomerangs/checksides are, but I think it illustrates the lack of a basic skill in football.
