I don't know why they feel the need to entertain us.
We go to the footy to watch footy.
"Are you not entertained?"
I think it's a generational thing. They need to entertained constantly, otherwise their lives won't be fulfilled!!??

Aarrgh! touched a very sore point. And while they are "entertaining" us we can't hear ourselves talk about the game. And this club is supposed to be dickhead-free!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
It's an AFL directive to enhance the game day experience for fans 😊
I'm watching the Brisbane International tennis tournament and they just played Sweet Caroline during the change of ends 😊.
My game day experience would be greatly enhanced if the loudspeakers went on the blink.

AFL/Swans ‘die hards’ and ‘women’ are not mutually exclusive you know .... .
But I know what you mean and I agree with you. There’s a lot of grumbling about not much in regard to Sweet Caroline. It’s just a bit of fun for a lot of people - I see plenty of people joining in around me, and I sit in a largely Swans Members area in the Brewongle.
However I do strongly agree about the need to turn down the volume on the public address system on all the interviews and other ‘entertainments’. Fine to have them (the fact some people join in means there is an audience) but please allow the rest of us a chance to ignore them and have our own conversations.
You assumed that I was referring to men when I said die hards lol
I probably should have said that the AFL are targeting attracting new fans is the form of families and women, and the Swans and probably most of the other clubs are playing along.
Actually Collingwood probably aren't.
The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.
