As repeated before on here, why Preuss chose to go to Melbourne I'll never know. Too good to be stuck at VFL level for mine.

Knoll did alright in reserves for mine, but I'm not entirely convinced. But surely worth trying a game again with a proper ruckman surely!

I'll have a go this week!!
    Ruck, forward, goal sneak...
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Your farewell game Annie? Retiring with the rest of them?

    strategically not trying to win........
That's the only reason why i can fathom not playing a genuine ruckman
While we systemically get beat in the middle every week

    Play Knoll
Why pick the guy up and not play him

    Play Reid forward
    Play Aliir back
JPK to play 60% forward 40% midfield
Melbourne's midfield isn't exactly killing it
So let's try the young guys in there

I don't think so. We were playing without a ruck and then tried a different strategy and picked McLean to ruck. While he is not a pure ruck to me this suggests we rated him as closest to AFL ready, ahead of Knoll and Amartey and his good efforts since being selected have vindicated the selectors faith in him, albeit they haven't solved our ruck problems. So while it might be time to change tack and try one of the other rucks instead (whose form may present a different picture to 4 weeks ago also), to me this does not mean we were effectively tanking. Selecting a player who isn't ready isn't necessarily only harmful to the team, it could actually be counterproductive to a player's development if they lose confidence. This is where we have to trust the coaches who work closely with the players every day to get the decisions right. Sometimes we may think a player will benefit from a 'taste' at AFL level (possibly this was the case with McInerney's selection earlier this year), even if they are not ready, and other times we may think that they could be so worked over that they will be set back. Other times maybe we just aren't sure how they will go and we want to see how they adapt to the higher level.

Some people just don't know when their time has come and need to be told. I'm thinking of Brendon Goddard.

I think Knoll and Amarty are ready. They are both playing great footy.

    Bring at least one in.

I would not change too much.

Out: Fox or Bell. I'd prefer to keep Bell.

    In: Amarty or Knoll

We are in a development phase. I don't see any reason to give anyone a final game next week to send them off. Send them off at half time. Let all the retirees walk the boundary at half time is a suitable send off.

I want Aliir to play back. Reid to play forward and if possible at least some form of tall forward set up. Sick of the Reid show. Against GWS we played Dawson forward. Last week we went all defensive and played him back. Stupid. Attack, attack, attack for @@@@s sake
What have we got to lose? A better draft pick?

    Amartey Stoddart Melican Rose emg

I would have preferred to try Amartey, or even Knoll, ahead of Jack.

I guess it's evidence they are trying to win; Jack arguably offers the most on that front.

I just got a notification on my phone and it just said, In: Jack Out: Jones. No mention of injury and I freaked! 'He's been omitted! Oh @@@@, must mean he's on the move at season's end.....WTF is going on?!'.

Very relieved to see he's actually injured (but not happy of course!) and not omitted.

Jack in though confuses me....I thought the last game at home would have been fine as a send off game. Must be 'experience out >>> experience in'.
