Ones sided prems match team which beat st George just got pumped by sydney uni. 159 to 16 .... going by pic posted by sydney uni if this score the case either rapid improvement by sydney uni or the neafl aspect really in their favour... I think the latter

Xavier Richards comes from AFL to play NEAFL with Sydney Uni.
Can't get a game so plays Prems instead and kicks 13 goals in an anihilation.
It really seems a bit unfair on everyone else....especially Manly.

Highlighted by score they put on manly who beat st George whom a lot are tipping this season and they even had back Tyrone Armitage as well

Don't see too many prems players getting an article on foxsports. Xavier Richards Sydney University 2017: 2016 Grand Final player kicks 13 goals in seconds | Fox Sports

Did they give him a scholarship as well?

It was bad enough when we had two clubs with NEAFL sides, now that there is one, mostly drawing the talent that aspires to their last crack at the big time (which I encourage!) to one organisation, they must be a stand alone team.

They can't be part of a club, if that club is allowed exclusive access to a virtual full team of NEAFL quality players every week in their "lower" grades.

Student will educate us to the inevitability of injuries, but that is not evident so far, and is impossible to quantify.

Ok, lets then assume that they do fall away, and they become noncompetitive with the top 4 sides and are not a factor by the time finals come around.

Lets imagine that Manly misses the 4 on percentage ... how unfair to Manly was that game yesterday, in that context!?

Worse, what if the "inevitable" injuries don't occur ... who gets within 10 goals of them?

SU under the current format disrupts and diminishes the value of the Sydney AFL Premier Division competition, and provide nothing.

I won't even touch on the NEAFL side that won last years PD flag ...

Not bad from Syd Uni to also ask Camden to travel for a Div1 game at Oval No.1 for an 830am start.

Meaning 5 Camden first grade players couldnt make the game and then having to compete against 8+ Prems players pushed down into Div1 due to NEAFL list as well.

Was able to catch a bit of the game though and Camden are on the right path which is good for football out south west

Nice try at the usual Camden spin, 5 year, but if the real facts are known, All Sydney Uni players were regular Div 1 players this year.

On the other hand, Camden only had 1 non-regular first grader, the prez, in the side, along with a 19's player (who had a bye).

And 8:30 games do happen it Sydney AFL. The fact that a Premier Division game was played with Uni V Manly at 2:30, plus 2 other earlier Manly matches, the idea is to keep clubs together where possible. It's actually a league requirement FYI.

With the number of games that they often have to try to get through at some grounds in a day, there's always going to have to be early starts.
Penrith had an 8am game at Gore Hill a couple of weeks ago. The Rams probably have players who live in the Blue Mountains who would have been driving in the dark to get there. But no-one complained about it.

The fixturing for Sydney Uni No 1 was probably done because there were three grades at Manly drawn to play at Sydney Uni No 1 and they wanted to put them together. Probably would have worked well except that Manly forfeited Div 4 so there was a 2-hour gap between the 8:30am game and the subsequent games.
