James Hird has decided to play another season and call it his last. He will hand over the captaincy at the end of this season however.

Bon, this is the best part of all.

Essendon will be a pack of headless chooks with Velvet as captain. Kenny Williams has better leadership skills than Lloyd.

When Sheeds was trying Lloyd at CHF this season I was left thinking that it may have been a move to let Jimmy see out a few more seasons deep in the forward line.
