No team has ever won the pre season cup then gone on to win the premiership. I think Geelong have doomed their 2006 season now.

Re the game, I enjoyed the last quarter, which was just starting when I got home from being out at a friends for dinner. The 9 pointer kicked by Geelong that out them in front was a beauty and killed Adelaide. Bloody Crows fans deserved that after all their crowing this week about their premiership chances this year. One big win against the Dees and they were mouthing off way too soon.

Essendon won the double in both 1993 and 2000. North *might* have done it in 1999, but I can't remember.

And unexpected things happen. No team from Sydney had ever won the flag before... :)

So the double has been done in 1984, 1993 and 2000 by Essendon, and Hawthorn in 1988 and 1991.

I was a year out on when North won the night flag. I knew they did it in '95 and that they won two in the '90s.

I'm glad I've given you something to do today Charlie - to prove me wrong. Sleep easy tonight, although you'll have to find something else to do tomorrow.

What would I ever do without you, Cruiser?

Crows will be at least in a PF.

Crows will be at least in a PF. I have a $50 bet with my father, a rabid Crows supporter, that Sydney will finish higher than them this season. I just dont think that they are a better team than Sydney, St Kilda, West Coast or Geelong.
