This coming Sunday July 6th sees the West Coast v Sydney Swans match at the SCG. We trust that all East Coast supporters and members are able to get to the ground to enjoy the spectacle.

Of course East Coast are playing UNSW/ES at the Village Green under lights on Saturday night with the First Grade game commencing at 6.30pm.

With West Coast in town, we thought it appropriate to update everybody with the plans that are in place for this weekend.

1. On Friday evening the entire West Coast match committee including all coaches have invited our equivalent East Coast match committee to dine with them for the purpose of discussing what I imagine will be a whole range of topics.

2. On Saturday morning Sean Streat our Northside junior liaison officer will be picking up David Hart and the injured Chad Morrison to visit various Auskick sessions and junior Club matches throughout the entire day.

3. At 12.45pm on Saturday afternoon, Mick Knuppel (ECE Head Coach), Ellen Hawes (ECE physio) and Mark Richardson (ECE Fitness coach) have been invited to attend West Coast training at the SCG to observe and learn from their respective counterparts at WCE. After training, Mick, Ellen and Mark will be invited back to the team hotel (Intercontinental) to discuss procedures, preparation and rehabilitation.

4. Saturday evening sees the ECE v UNSW/ES Sydney AFL match and in attendance at the ground will be all available WCE Directors, Executive Management and staff as part of their commitment to promotion and development of football in Sydney. Peter Sumich and Tony Micale will be available to assist Mick and his ECE team in the coaching box during the night.

5. On Sunday during the SCG match Mick Knuppel will experience the AFL coaching role first hand as he joins the WCE during the game.

6. Post match, West Coast and East Coast will host all Members, supporters and players from both Clubs to the combined after match function at the Paddington / Woollahra RSL Club, 220 Oxford Street. Just 5 minutes walk from the SCG. Both Clubs will do their Awards from their respective weekend?s matches.
