Damn....wish they'd make up their mind...only got Foxtel many moons ago for the footy...even when you had to pay extra for the channel. Have been hanging back on cancelling it in the hope of a compromise before season start. this may be it... Mind you, $100+ a month for the pleasure of watching ONE channel of crap from the 90 channels of crap on offer could be better spent on FLYING down for this year's GF, rather than driving....
As for channel 31, give me a break...reception here in Sydney looks like it's being beamed from the moon, or at the least Thredbo cos theres so much snow in the picture...unwatchable!

$100+ a month

 You are getting ripped off.

I didn't explain the whole sequence of events which led us to get the platinum package, as I didn't think it important. Originally we took the basic Foxtel plus the Fox Footy Channel (which cost $100 a year extra). Later Foxtel folded Fox Footy into its basic package. The family has upgraded it since, but MY reason for getting it installed in the first place was to watch all the week's footy.
Anyway, to get back to the point of my post, I just hope they can sort it out and I can start watching footy again on Foxtel, cos from my point of view, there's not much else among the various channels that I find of interest (although the rest of the family might disagree!)

If the scumbags end up only showing 4 FTA games in Victoria each week, then there is no way I/we will get to see the Swans on FTA except for the finals.

If this happens I will have to try to convince Mrsgs14 that we need Austar for the footy season.

Cancelled my Fox the day after the GF. Changed to Optus who will on-broadcast footy from FOX if it becomes available. Optus is cheaper anyway and broadcasts the same channels as FOX. Keeping my hard earned as far away from the "non-believers" at FOX who ruined my life by cancelling FOX Footy channel.

That is not correct goswannie, we play the majority of our games on Saturday night and the early Sunday games which are guaranteed to be played on free to air in Melbourne with 10 on Saturday night and Seven on Sunday.

We will as previous years have minimal games on Foxtel into Melbourne.

:D I hope you're right, but I would still prefer all on FTA.

However doesn't it depend on what other games are on on Saturday night? I also was under the impression that with only 1 game to be televised on Sunday that it would be a 2.10 start game that would be shown live.

While what Saturday games 10 want to show is up to them (and looking at the fixture I would think we would get most of our shown into Melbourne save 2 or 3), the make up of the Sunday TV programming could be of most interest to us because talk is that Fox will show the 1pm and 5pm Sunday Games and Seven the 2pm Sunday Game (because for some unknown reason this will fit in better with their planned V8 Supercar coverage also for Sundays.
