As much as the new mics are a good thing, is it fair for the AFL to allow them to be used in the 5 matches in the meantime? That has the potential to disadvantage teams involved in the 3 matches that don't have mics, and although one would assume it's probably not a big thing, it could have already affected the makeup of the final 8 come September. Admittedly so could Shannon Grant's kicking ability but we see crap kicking on a regular basis from all players in all teams pretty much so it evens itself out, but what if it was something like Siren-Gate (say one ump might radio "dude that was the siren!"), or a free kick right on the goal line at the siren or something?
