Police have recently confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances involved in the death.
An original internet newspaper report mention overdose, but that was very quickly edited. Why would they say that without any facts to back it up? Absolutely stupid journalism.

The cops were called to his place and he was carrying on like a pork chop yelling and shouting,so a neighbour took him in took look after him and an hour later an ambo was called then he died.

Who called the Ambo the 2nd time?

The tragedy of this is that he has left behind two (?? I think) young ones. Not sure how old they are? Yes it is very sad, even though I never liked the Eagles, he was always one of my favourite players when I was a teenager.

Sounds an odd combination of events, interesting that they are highlighting Cousins was with him and he was acting strangely in the street at 11.45pm on Sunday night. Mod edit: Unsubstantiated.

Great tribute to Mainy on the news, him and Langer were going to fight it out in a charity boxing match on Thursday night. They did mention that Cousins rocked up to his place before his death but there were no further details.

EDIT: Removed quote from above post

Couple of days later?

Which part of "in the months leading to his death" don't you understand?

Mainwaring's father, Hubert, said yesterday his son had endured a bitter falling-out with Eagles hierarchy in the months leading to his death.

Hubert Mainwaring said he believed that the conflict over confidential information that his son had let slip to a colleague had prompted a descent into depression. It related to a major announcement the Eagles had planned to make about Cousins, who was battling drug problems.

Hi Ruda, where you been?

Wow, looks like the announcement re Cousins was months in the making!:)

This "big announcement" rumour only happened late last week. That's where I drew the "few days later" from.

As I recall your original post had nothing to do with what he died from but who may have been responsible.

So you weren't right at all and your original accusation remains grossly wrong and defamatory.

Rani Mainwaring left her now dead husband because he would not sever his ties with disgraced ex-west coast eagles player ben cousins.

We know that Mainey died of a heart attack brought about by a cocktail of drugs and alcohol.

We don't know who SUPPLIED the drugs, but we DO know who was there when he was either taking them, or under the influence of them.

Time will tell if I'm right or not.

Time will tell if I'm right or not.Apparently, the Cuz brought him dinner because Mainwairing rang him saying he was hungry.

Possibly proving you wrong on two counts:

1. Cousins was simply delivering him dinner, not anything sinister.
2. Cousins may have been working for meals on wheels, proving that he is a good Samaritan off the field.

Just speculation mind you.

Whoosh. You obviously missed my sarcasm. I'm slipping.

Disgraced ex-west coast eagles player ben cousins is not a friggin tragedy son ... he's a silly, stupid little boy stuffing up badly after he's been given every chance to improve himself.

A tragedy is something like a small child picking up some of the drugs these junkies have left behind and taking them and dying. Now that - is not funny.

And I'll openly admit that I'm STILL getting amusement from the whole Disgraced ex-west coast eagles player ben cousins thing. He's a tool who deserves my nothing more than my mirth.
