The Brisbane/Crows match this evening was a great illustration of the class of the top RS nominations from 1999 - the year Goodsey won it. IIRC there were three stand-outs that year and the voting was pretty close amongst them. The two runners-up to Goodes were Burton and Black, and weren't they superb this evening? Black's achievements are obviously well-known, but it was a timely reminder of the class of Burton - such a shame that's he had so many injury woes because, as a neutral, he's a great player to watch.
Of course, Goodes' performances this season indicate that he's right up there with these two in terms of class.
