Tough call, but had next to no impact. I know he was coming back from a knee injury, but I feel that it wasn't a physical issue for Nick as much as a mental issue.

Is a great player when on song, so I hope he regains his confidence in 2010.

Why break a trend.

2, although I expect to be adding some significant numbers to that come this time next year, or bye, bye.

6, my love for him means I am not only blinded I cannot hear all you horrible people. On principle I approve of his ability to hang in there no matter what is thrown at him. He became more effective as the year worn on. And he gives the Best Hugs!!!

4 - A bit generous compared to others, I guess we all had extremely high expectations

I really think he can come back in 2010 and have an impact though.

Zero. We got more out of Mike Pyke and that's saying something.

Without exaggeration, this guy is going to be the barometer for us in 2010. He goes well, so will the Swans. He has another ordinary year, So will the Swans. Not because he is THAT important a player, but because he is an indication of where our 2nd tier players are at. And that's where games of footy are won and lost.

2 for the season and an extra 1 for being a top bloke!
This is a guy that has very high standards for himself so if anyone can turn around their form it's Melcho.
I actually noticed that his form fell away when Swantastic stop hanging around so often. So he needs to get back here - as his man Melcho needs him.
There were some glimpses of his appetite for a contest returning but still too tentative.

He was missing the Irish jigger too much.

Not true. Malceski was very disappointing, but I think we're losing a touch of perspective. He still managed 12 games, and he played a typical 12 game season. He was just a normal fringe player. He had a 3 goal game against Hawthorn, a couple of high possession games against other sides. Nothing like his 07, but his 07 was simply fantastic.

I gave him 3. Still poor, but to say we got more out of Pyke is quite ridiculous (and that's not a knock on Pyke, the fact he was able to even get a game so quickly defies belief!).

For a player with such a fantastic kick - he was really really off his game all year. Had a number of clangers from the kick out and regularly missed targets in general play. If I remember the stats from the Record his effective disposal by foot was below Kirk and J. Bolton!!!

I would like to see him move from defence and play a more attacking wing position next season.

Cheers

Justice

3ish but capable of much more next year if he regains his confidence.

With the new additions and the return of old favourites, 2010 could be a very big year for the red & white, if he comes good (which i think he will)

Poor Eski.

He's such a top bloke.

Still trying to get over that knee problem (mentally not physically) IMO.
We all know how good he is and we all hope he can be that good again, but this year was disappointing by his standards.
Next year is his litmus test.

Really had an impact aong with the Tadgh loss to us.
Would of loved to see Mattner ,Tadgh, Shaw and Esky at full flight.

The knee has screwed him, he lost everything after it.
Even his kicking dropped away, ( From Kick Outs ) which was his weapon and general play. Looks like a rabbit in a spotlight and wont contest at all

Would love to see him at his best, dont rekon it will happen though

Mal came back from never before attempted surgery...........for example a typical knee recon it takes 18 to 24mths to become 100% at AFL level.........this guy I had surgery never been done before and he will be ready for 2010 in the knee or not.......i hope he is because that pass of his in seasons prior to his injury was lovely to watch

Uninspiring season. Agree that he will be crucial to us in 2010. That's why he's going into the fantasy team and I'm getting on the sWans at 67 to 1 - because I believe.

He's a nice guy and doesn't hide the fact that his confidence was shot after the knee op.Seems to be fighting back for season 2010.I hope he does.

Totally agree he is a nice guy etc. Aims to reinvent himself season 2010. He is growing his hair I see, which he told me he would until it became shoulder length..... I wouldn't put it past him. Watching you Mal....:p
