Has anyone else noticed that when the Sydney Swans are playing well (or for a Premiership) the commentators refer to them as "the Swans" but when they are playing badly or are playing a favoured Melbourne underdog the team and the individual players are always "Sydney".
Let me know if you ever hear anything complimentary following "Sydney". Though they sometimes make a mistake and follow the use of "Swan" with a downer.
I bet this weekend is Sydney (add music hall hiss) playing the brave Shinboners (hooray).
