Otherwise why has no-one posted the afl.com.au article saying that a Swans Scholarship player has won the medal for AIS Academy best first year (under 16) player? The headline says "Sydney Swans" scholarship holder...but not mentioned in the actual article....from Sydney, though

Lloyd Perris is his name.

Yes, a fantastic accolade, and a really promising youngster ... it was reported in an earlier thread, and is on the Swan's website as well.

He was a standout MVP for NSW at the u/16's Nationals.

Due to injury he actually missed out on playing on the AIS tour, so it was quite a tribute to his character that he was rated so highly by his peers.

My understanding is that he is still undergoing rehab. for a full knee reco, unsure of a return date to playing.

Yes further delving sees it was posted on Sydneyswans on 1st feb (I read it about a week ago). And further reading here informs us that he is ours if we want at the end of next year.
Pretty cool to win a peer vote when you are the ONLY NSW player out of the 30 at the AIS.

May be one of those instances where everybody voted for the guy who was going to get no votes to further their own chances!

"Perris was awarded the highest votes by his team-mates in 12 of the 30 categories - competitiveness, passion, patience, loyalty, respect, selflessness, sacrifice, hard work, desire, professionalism, determination and listening ability."

All of those things are the same/similar...did they really need 30 categories?

Must be tough in ABD, people may get cynical...perhaps he deserved those votes????
