He speaks for many others:

The Buddy show may pay for itself after all (http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/the-buddy-show-may-pay-for-itself-after-all-20140822-10726i.html)

Sounds like he's jumped on the bandwagon, too. Everyone likes a winner.

Regardless of the on field success, The Buddy factor was always going to draw a crowd, which in the Sydney market is a good thing.
The fact that the Swans are currently top of the ladder. Potentially going to finish top 2 and have a genuine crack at a second premiership in 3 years.
He has earned his first years salary and some!!

I didn't like Lloyd as a player, but really enjoy his comments and assessments after football.
He got a couple of big things wrong though.
1. Whether or not it was in the rules - the way we picked up Buddy. Of course it was.
2. Last player to ever kick 1000 goals? Nup.

I believe Franklin is the only player we may ever see kick 1000 AFL career goals again in the history of the game.

He is only guessing, but is likely to be proven true if he plays out the remaining 8 seasons in style.
He only needs 45 goals per season, less what he kicks in the remaining games this year. quite possible if he has a couple of big seasons.

The Roar article said Hawthorn offered $4.5m/4 years, GWS offered $12m/6 years. The Sydney offer is the same but in a time frame they can afford it. If our deal isn't within the rules, what are the other contracts like?

I have no doubt that Buddy will get there, but he won't be the last :)

Probably not, but it is getting less likely. Players aren't kicking 100 goals a season anymore, so unless the game evolves again, the days of the FF kicking bags is over.

Why would we be debating if the deal was in the rules or not for years to come? We just did something no-one else thought or was prepared to do within he rules. All cleared. If we don't win this year it may still backfire. But bloody hell I've enjoyed it so far.
