Who wore 37 on their back, was repeatedly bullied but just got up again, never took the easy option when they thought it was wrong, despite the consequences ?

clue - it's a fairly famous (fictional) character (I only just realised they wore 37)

Goodsey. Hadn't realised he was fictional though.

There's some men you just can't reach.

Yep - watched it again on a long flight and was chuffed to find that my cinematic hero had the same number as a real life one.

If you're still pondering it was a classic 1960s movie starring Paul Newman (aka Adam Goodes?). You can read a summary of it in the link below and there are lots of clips from the movie on you tube.

" Cool Hand Luke (1967) is the moving character study of a non-conformist, anti-hero loner who bullheadedly resists authority and the Establishment."
