The annual Troy Luff Medal is the RWO fan vote for the Sydney Swans' best and fairest. Please us this thread to vote each week. To cast your vote, click on the link in the nav above or click here (http://www.redandwhiteonline.com/?pageid=tlm).

Some history on the award:
In 2002, the Troy Luff Medal began informally, with people nominating their top 3 or 5 players each week after the match. The idea grew more and more popular and it was decided to instigate the fans Best and Fairest award.

The winners of the Troy Luff Medal have also been the Swans Best and Fairest winners up until 2007, and have consistently polled well in media awards and the Brownlow Medal, some even winning it.

The organisers decided to name the award the Troy Luff Medal in recognition of Troys service to the Club and his support for the RWO - RedAndWhiteOnline.com (www.redandwhiteonline.com) website and because of his 110% effort always when playing for the Swans.

The award is for the best player throughout the year, as judged by those fans who participate in the RWO - RedAndWhiteOnline.com (www.redandwhiteonline.com) community. Each week, fans awarded 3, 2, 1 votes. These votes are tallied and points allocated to the top 5 players each week.

Voting is secret. The top five players in contention are revealed each week with the number of votes for each unknown (players are listed in surname order). The overall winner is revealed at the end of the season.

The winner receives a presentation of the years voting.

To ensure a representative award, it is important that as many people as possible vote consistently every week. If you miss a round, it won't taint your vote, but it will reduce its impact for that round. Round by round summaries below.

You don't have to be in it from Round One either.

Alrighty, excuse the delay this week. I ended up missing the game and had to wait until I watched the replay.

Round 10 had 36 members voting, with ten players polling. It's no surprise that Mitchell secured BoG and storms back into the leaderboard, replacing Isaac Heeney.

Hi Dan, don't mean to nag but for the TLM to have relevance it would be best for the result to be know ASAP.

My suggestion is to forget about write-ups on matches etc. - just count up the votes and put out the final vote tally.

If you want to leave us agog for a bit longer you might want to report starting from the lowest working up to the winner.

Today is the 1st December. Our minds are now firmly on next season. I (for one) would really like to know which player finished the 2016 season as the RWO Troy Luff Medal winner.

The five players listed above were the top five (not necessarily in the above order) at the end of the H&A season. It just requires someone to count the votes from the four finals matches, add them to the votes already tallied for the minor rounds, and announce the winner.

No match reports required, just the top five place-getters and the overall winner is all we need.

Dan? Liz? Anyone who has access to the votes??

Personally I can't see the point of running this count in future years if we can't get the results out within two weeks (preferably one) of the Swans' last match of the season.

Meg, you're right and that's my fault. I'll do the count tomorrow and post by Tuesday.
