Just in case some of you think that I have been exagerating in my previous posts when I refer to how bad Port supporters are:

Honestly this is just a media beat up.

A bit rich being concerned about the drunken abusive feral Port Adelaide supporters. This from a club whose members area at Morabbin was known as The Animal Enclosure. If you want to talk feral, you need to look no further than The Aints and their supporters.

Go Power. Smash the filthy peasants!!!

Hear hear.

The wrap the Port fans get on here is unbelievable. Yes they are feral but, at least their fans are passionate about their club and besides a few chicken wings, they have been more than hospitable to us Swans fans when we have made our fan to SA, including after last years final.

Toooooo much history for mine........

that right cruiser??

No doubt Melbourne folk feel the similarly about the Saints but trouble is Port's reeks of their tainted success over the years, something the Saints sure don't have.

go saints

Damn right. You need to be a South Aussie to truly understand why we despise them so much. But mark my words, if Port become a multi-premiership winning AFL side, you non South Aussies will come to understand. I pity the Crows supporters in Adelaide this week leading up to the GF.

I will add that I thought tonight PF between Port and St Kilda was one of the best games this year.

I was over the moon for my good mate Paralowie Power. He called me after the game (but I was still watching the replay, so I didn't answer.) He said he wife couldn't watch the last quarter and his son cried with delight. I was drained watching the match on TV. It was up there with the Lockett kick match in 96 for sure.

It is the boofhead St Kilda fans who have the answering to do. Their team was on fire yet they all ran out onto the ground like lunatics to celebrate a player who had already ran off the pitch. They may have lost their team its chance to play in a grand final.

Port Adelaide supporters have on the whole given us the best hospitality out of any club in the AFL. They even pole our banner without question. And even welcomed us to their BBQ AFTER that match last year.

Give them a break, I reckon!

Never. NEVER! I am sworn to despise them.;)

I agree re the Saints fans running out on the field like that after Gehrig's 100th, just when their team had momentum going its way. Very stupid.

They have more than their fair share of drop kick supporters no doubt, but they would not have won without their supporters last night.

Their crowd has a real knowledge of the rules and know how to pressure an umpire - a true football culture we can only hope for in Sydney. If anyone in Sydney thinks they have grown up in a real football culture, get to a PA game at AAMI.

Good luck to them... and Geelong tonight!

Of course you are, and we are all fair weather socialite supporters who clap behinds and scream 'ball' at all the wrong times. Or at least I am. I shouldn't really speak for others. What's wrong with cheering behind anyway. Its better than OOBOTF

Yeah, the police escorts out are great mate! ;)

Pretty sad that Adelaide is the only place where security tell away fans to stay back after the match for fear of trouble.

But the Port supporters around us this year at Footy Park were great. And didn't rub the scoreline in at all.

On the contrary, they were entertained by the guile and penache of those in red and white singing ditty after ditty, even when we were getting thrashed. :D

JF
PS:- If Brisbane are losing and kick a goal in the last quarter, will the Port fans start booing? BOOOOOOOOOOOO! ;) :p

Hardly. The Premiership Cup heading out of the state has already happened, this is just what happens with a National Comp.

You have to admit though that GF week in Melbourne will be as flat as a pancake though. No people clambering for tickets. No people getting excited about dreams of a flag (old Roys supporters).

I have absolutely no idea who to go for. I'm mates with not only Paralowie Power but Port1978. But I want the Lions successful for the Northern States.

Normally a GF is out of teams you dislike. But this one is out of two teams I do quite like.

this is a myth rather than a reality.

Victorians want to see the game truly national and this is achieved by such a GF. you can also be assurred that most Victorias would rather see BL or PA win than Collingwood, Carlton, etc.

media myths and silly SA premiers should be given the respect they deserve - none.

This is rubbish perpetuated by the media - I would bet 90% of Victorians don't really care that two interstate teams are playing.

In all honesty its no big deal, just like 92 and 94 when no team in the Melbourne metro area was involved. The game is still here and to most of us thats all that matters.

Yep, I think you're probably right. The only thing they probably care about is that their own team didn't make it.

I was Rapt to see to I/state teams should've happened a few yrs back except for the chokers (sorry port1978l). The Media wankers are the ones that throw it about like it is the end of the world. One day the GF will be held outside of Vic then the diehards will have something to cry about!!!!
