View Full Version : Saints on the piss again

Well, this is kinda embarassing...for years I have thought rugby players to be the absolute scum of the earth for their off-field behaviour -- raping, smearing excrement on walls, urinating under the tables at casinos, pissing into cups and throwing it over the crowd at the SCG cricket, pissing in the aisles of aircraft, dealing drugs and guns...but I now have to eat humble pie. Seems the boozers are at it again. Not content with last year's rape allegations (perhaps they should do a double-header with the Canterbury Bulldogs???), it seems now that Fraser Gherig (definitely now the AFLs most ugly player) has been pissing over a woman in a hotel bar... read the story at The Age site. Gherig is not fit to be called a man...if this story is true, he is an absolute effing disgrace to humanity, and must take his rightful place alongside those filthy scumbag rugerers at the urinal of life...

Ugh. Gehrig. I always knew he had an ugly mug, now he proves he has a personality to match.

The woman has spoken to Thomas and it is believed the Saints have offered to compensate her by buying new shoes and pants.

FFS.

A post full of rash generalisations.

A simple link to the article with reference to the one player (not the whole team) would probably have been more appropriate.
And joking about rape and other illegal activities might be deemed as a tad offensive I would say......

It saddens me to think you feel that way CTS...people like this show absolutely no respect for people, especially women, and really, I am at a complete loss to see where you are coming from on this...
St Kilda have a recognised culture of off-field transgressions, and while I was this year able to give them the benefit of the doubt...I think this is proof positive that indeed, little has changed...what sort of a man would drop his trousers in a bar and urinate...no matter how intoxicated he was. I wouldn't, and I'd hope that others on here wouldn't as well. It might be OK for Barry McKenzie, but I would have hoped Australian men had progressed a little since then. Would you like it if the lady in question had been your mother or sister or wife...think about it b4 lecturing, please.

I'm with you on this swan_song, when this sort of stuff happens, it often seems to be more about team culture than anything else (though obviously individual @@@@-headedness comes into it too.

The more this type of behaviour is accepted, or condoned because 'hey he's a footy player' the more it will become ingrained as standard behaviour.

Re CTS's point about joking about rape, don't they say the best comedy is about taboos? So long as the butt of the joke isn't the victim herself.

pissing on someone is one of the most degrading things u could do
its a bloody disgrace
how could it be an accident?

Fraser Gherig did this - not the whole team, code or sporting community. What Fraser did is very bad, but it could well have been anyone in the community doing it.

I am getting a bit sick of mass generalisations and the hysteria caused by one persons actions.

For f's sake. Do youse peeple want to win a flag or be f'en skhool perfects. If Frazer Gerig get s tanked and pisses on the carpet and on some bird that he wasnt even aiming at who cares. He kicked 100+ gaols thjis seeson and youse want to delits him because he is a drunk with no manners. If he has broken a law let the cops deals with it. IUf ists bad for the Sainters pr and stuff let them deal with it, apology ect. But delist a guy that kicks 100 goals in a seeson becasue of theat then yoou are a fool.

I think its digusting to, and digusting for the lady but it has nuthing to do with footy. Who cares.

What Damien said.

St Kilda have a recognised culture

????

culture?

culture - The tastes in art and manners that are favored by a social group

Swan Song emailed me and I told him not to take what I said to heart.
Just my opinion that labeling a whole team or code as rapists is something that I would take exception to if I was playing for the Saints.

In fact, let me tell you a story.

Many years ago, friends and I were travelling up the coast and ended up in Jupiters Casino.
We were in some bar, and pretty drunk.
Steve and I went for a pee and he was so drunk that he was missing in the cubicle and spray was coming under the divider.
I told him to aim properly as he was getting dangerously close to my leg, so he pees straight under the partition.
So I do the same.
Next thing you know we are both standing washing our pants in the sink.

Disgusting? yep.
But at the time we were really drunk and didn't give a ****.

But that doesn't mean it is my family 'culture'

Lousey comparison CTS. Gehrig pissed on a woman's leg at the bar. He was not with a mate in a toilet cubicle. There is NO EXCUSE for his behaviour. He's a dog ugly @@@@@@ who probably cant get a root so he's gone and pissed on some woman instead. He belongs on a leash.

Yes, but how does that type of action place at fault the AFL or St. Kilda's culture? That is what CTS is saying. His example is spot on actually.

Why is the culture always at fault? Fraser was a knob, end of story. It is like saying all the murders in the world are committed by poor people from families with loose ethics.

I didnt mention/discuss the "culture" issue, only Gehrig's behaviour.

Did you actually read the article?

Yesterday morning, the woman, who identified herself only as "Jemima", called radio station 3AW and alleged that a St Kilda footballer had pulled his trousers down and "urinated in the bar area, on the carpet and it splashed all over my legs".

"When he saw me, he kind of pulled up his pants," she said.

"He wasn't deliberate in where he was aiming but I was just standing in the wrong way."

I'm not defending what he did, but saying that he went and peed on some girl is innacurate.

Bag the hell out of him, but give it to him for what actually happened....

I don't know CTS, your self-confessed inappropriate urination reduces your credibility in this matter.

But he DID piss in the bar - come ON! I've been well p1ssed before and I manage to stagger to the toilet (and before you say it, yes I'm a woman so p1ssing in public is harder, but men are supposed to be able to drink more before they're plastered)

Seems to me the guy's so arraogant he thinks he doesn't have to follow the same rules as the rest of us.

What's next - taking a dump in a restaurant?

haha, fair enough.

or you could say that I am a qualified expert ;)

I better refrain from further drunken stories in the future....

Bazooka Womna, you made me laugh :)
You know we used to not go to the toilet for as long as we could to keep the alcohol in our bodies longer.
Sadly, we were doing science at Manash Uni at the time and knew that it really would have no effect other then to cause bladder pain, but it was fun at the time....

See these days, we call that "Breaking the seal" - the idea is to not pee for as long as possible so as to avoid the dash every 5 minutes thereafter for as long as possible :p

As to Fraser... dude that's just so wrong. but if it had just been Joe Bloggs in a bar, would we be kicking up such a stink? Not justifying it by any means, but again, it's a case where people take huge offense becuase it was a footy player, but sadly, it has been proven yet again that many of them are, simply human. Although in this case, a poorly house-trained human. If she hadn't recognised him, would she be kicking up such a fuss, or would she have just gone "EW GROSS" and bolted to clean it off? I know if it was me i'd have done the latter.

That was part of a japanese game show I saw once. They made these guys stand in the cold in their jocks and drink cold beer. The winner was the last one to pee.

I'm with BW on this!! No matter how p!$$ed i've been I've always managed to pfffsst in the right place, or at least behind a tree, or up a lane way. And I don't think I've ever pfffsst on a mate either!!!! Duelled, but never stained!! ;) Never in a Pub/Club.

Disgraceful behaviour no matter how you look at it.

I think the fact that anyone, whether it be Fraser Gehrig or Joe Bloggs, would go for a leak at a bar is pretty gross.

The girl was in the wrong place at the wrong time, that's all. I've been spewed on and had drinks spilt on me at bars because I've also been in the wrong place at the wrong time. You get over it.

BTW I've also pissed on myself a couple of times - doing a bush wee, of course. Even girls can't always aim straight.

Here is a picture taken just after said incident at Jupiters.

http://cts.biz.ly/Images/the_boys_thumb.jpg

The bar was totally empty, and the 3 other guys heard everything that went on in the toilets.

Sean (far left) was not very impressed at all, as you can see.
Took him a couple of days to get over it....

I am next to him and Steve is far right
