When will you all reliaze that the club comes first and the players 2nd! Hall has been found out again, legally kanga coach will burn all inc Blues & big kev & wests now has to build with juniors.

I was interested in reading about campbelltown's latest investment in the tracking systems, this was what coach glenn garner had to say "Although there will be a lot of data that we will get an immediate benefit from, the real advantages will be seen NEXT season when we can structure our conditioning"

Does this mean he has already or is wanting to sign with the roo's for next year or, and i put this to you from the war torn streets of baghdad with close ties to clubs in the ACT, is this a ploy to keep the truth about his future from getting out??

But for the moment I'm prepared to believe DLH's explanation about a software glitch. It's early in the season, we can still be optimistic.

A silly comment really - you really should look at your own backyard mate. From all reports the joint is an absolute mess down there with bolkes like Yoley big-knobbing themselves but doing very little.

If you were half as organised as ECE then you would be doing a hell of a lot better on the field my friend.....

Woodie got a great job for you at our local chemist as they are feeling the pinch at the moment. Just stand out the front and make people sick. This will insure profits rise?

Firstly from your report on the game I am guessing you are not an eagles supporter, instead perhaps one of the cheap shot merchants that post on this site. Secondly from what I heard in regard to the Hall incident is that he just chipped a bit of glass of that fragile jaw of his. I would also like to add that (and a Balmain player told me this) he should probably be expecting worse next time round after his comments regarding ECE at the aftermatch function. He said his comments were a little disrespectful.

bryan have to agree, comments at the after function were disrespectful, but action will happen on the track, players and a lot from balmain back at the club were accomodating and thank pity there coach showed the sort he really is.

in regards to what and how we dont have a ground, the thing is one is being built, when it is i am sure a lot will be commenting on how well we have come, a lot will still bag, but n the long term with off field professionalism and any true football person would admit east coast are doing the hard yards and at least putting a front foot forward, behind the scenes which on field are improving each year on many will bag for a un defeated seaosn last seaosn and losing the big dance however over the year no one can argue it is improvement and not moving the other way.

the off field professionalism is there, result will come, ground is on the way. and i hope all clubs can follow too, more clubs taking a leaf this way will make for a healthier comp.

Apparently they are using new software and there were a few glitches which meant the scores didn't appear on the website, nor did they make the Sunday papers.

I would think it would be sorted out by next weekend.

Totally agree Woodsy. If the clubs have gone to the effort to ring through the results to Sydney AFL HQ straight after the game, then they should be made available as quickly as possible. Even 24 hours after the round has finished, we still don't have quarter-by-quarter scores or goalkickers up.
There may have been some unanticipated disaster or one-off factor that stopped it happening quicker, but hopefully over the course of the season we won't be waiting as long for the results.

witnessed by a crowd which had a canteen which ran out of food at half time saw a newly recruited 30 plus balmain tigers/crows players lose the first ever eastern derby by just under 100 points.

i stand by my prediction, wooden spoon for this club.

wearing not even there own tops but tops naming fremantle the club which had had the biggest recruiting of any club i can remember looked as worse as they did last season.

tip of advice for anyone coming to the drummoyne oval.... bring your own food, drinks as it is well needed, however one thing though first round the ground there looked awesome, just a pity the team that run out on the track couldnt play no matter how many they recruited.

Great victory for our guys round 1. ECE juggernaut continues in 2007!

Considering the numerous player turnover, our new recruits slotted in well and took half a game to get going as most teams are a bit rusty come rd 1.

The old firm onball served well with Robbo being our best and Vlats.

The only concern I have is the very questionable tactics that were employed by our team. Two absolutely blatant head high shots off the ball on young Dockers coach were disgraceful. Both incidences didnt even acknowledge a free kick. Twice he was polaxed when the ball was nowhere in his area and he had no chance at all.

What was worse was that our players stood over him with abuse even whilst unconscious and on the ground for 5 minutes. Honestly, dont know how he got up after the first one. It may cost a couple of our lads a few weeks on the side line.

To our staff, well done on the recruitment and great win to start the season.

Maybe Hall has changed from being a JIB, from your comments he must of got close to the ball in this game? usally he takes the kicks outs, runs behind the player to get a cheap one etc, insuring he is never near the ball.
Thank god your not one of our supporters, wouldn't like to rob a bank with you????

The Digital Sports commentary team was at Drummoyne Oval, which was in fantastic condition, but I can promise you that even though badly beaten on the scoreboard, they were not as bad as Trouble is making out.
Especially for the first half the Dockers had as much of the ball as East Coast and were competitive for long periods, but with 12 new players in the team they will take a few weeks to gel together.
Their skill level needs a fair bit of work but they will be better when Luke Thatcher returns from army duties and any team who takes Balmain lightly will do so at their peril.
Evan Davis and Ben Kinnaird (with three goals) were very good for the Dockers while the others all tried hard - Hamid Mangal had a good first half before being worn down.
The Eagles were as scrappy as Balmain in the first half, wasting countless opportunities - it was 7.12 to 2.8 at half time and probably 16 of those 20 behinds should have been goals.
However, there was no doubt the Eagles would come good, and when they did they powered away with eight goals in the third quarter to lead by 77 at the final change.
Balmain kicked the first three goals of the last quarter and looked impressive doing it, but East Coast steadied again with eight of the last 10 to win 23.16 154 to 8.12 60.
The ominous sign for other clubs were the performances of the Eagles' four recruits, who kicked 14 goals between them.
Damien Russell looks an outstanding player with six on debut, Ben Rogers slotted straight back in with four, Adam Floyd kicked two and can play, while Aian McMillan kicked two from the wing and showed himself to be an outstanding player.
Oh, and Jon Vlatko and Jason Coulloupas had 70-odd touches between them as well.
