For a bloke that has only been playing AFL footy for a couple of years basically, he is doing astoundingly well. He has a long way to go, but a very high ceiling potentially. Really liking what he has shown so far.

Let’s agree to disagree on this one. Hamling has done the job on both Max King and Georgiardous this year because he has good reach when defending from behind. He also can play the defensive forward role quite effectively. Melican is good back up in case of injury

Bang on Melican is limited and struggles on the big boys - good depth though

No one is pretending Hamling is anything other than a stop gap in the forward line till Logan gets back. None of the others nominated to come back in can play that role so let's not confuse the two.

I'm just pleased to see Kyle get another game. I wonder how much of selection for the 'second tier' of players is sometimes about playing to structures and game plan. If you watch him, he's always positioned perfectly on his man and I can't think of a contest he has lost. That's before you get to how clean he is in tight. We'll find out a lot about where he's at tonight given the quality of the opposition, but he deserves the run.

Play him up the ground he isnt a defender.

The difference between Bice and Cleary/Hannily is that Bice can get it 20 times and its a standard game, the other 2 get half that and they have done their role, held to a different standard which I agree with but after he has paid the price he jumps the other 2

Melican is the only player consistently being made an example of, is best 23 especially against that fwd line.

Bice was horrendous in his last senior game, Rosas anonymous. They both played well in reserves, but equally I can see why they weren't selected. Melican v Hamling a tougher one for mine - Melican when fit is a very solid defender, but Hamling equally is very solid too. I don't mind that selection to be honest for the time being, although come finals it could easily be the other way around.

Hopefully he plays Alex Pearce smartly.

They would have 4 forwards who are very tall. And we need to negate that. We have only 2 defenders who are tall. So it means Blakey will have to play on Voss who will try and tag him out. His offensive output will be lower.

We are at least one goal better because of Papley. That is a massive positive

And we may have better legs than them given their 5 day break from interstate travel. If we are close enough in the final quarter it would play a part

A bit harsh on Corey, who I thought played well last week, but I suppose dropping people who don't really deserve to be dropped is a good sign.

Good sign or poor match committee, time will tell

Drop them and send a message, see if they perform, get them back in

Give them a series of games, regardless of how they perform

And I dont care how Hamling performs fwd, no team is winning a premiership with that role in their fwd line
