I've been told that kid is an utter, utter, utter gun.

Looks like liz is right about his age, 15, and that is very young to be playing at this level. Maybe the Swans reporter made the same assumption as we did.

    Michael May
    Matthew May

Matt May, another of the Swans? scholarship players, kicked a goal on the run at the 11 minute mark

And I guess that makes sense because Matt May, the scholarship holder, is probably still just 15.

Michael May played as a topup at the SCG a month back....

    From the Swans website....
Top-up player Michael May kicked one from 40 metres out as did Barlow
Like Liz, I also assumed that M May would be the scholarship holder, but one of the guys from the SydneyAFL board assured us Michael May was the player and he plays for ???????????? (somebody) in the Sydney comp.

I'm almost positive Brennan got an accidental poke in the eye and may have had vision problems...as u would I guess.

Faulks and Murphy had a huge head clash in the 2nd quarter, Murphy went on, I think Faulks didn't play much after that.
We were sitting behind the bench, it looked like Brennan may have got a knock to the head as the Doc was doing all of the "concussion tests", with watching the fingers moving around etc.

BTW how good was Murphy's goal in the 3rd qrtr (I think it was)?

That's how I played for a few years. When you put on weight DURING the season you know you are having a good time and when you can have a smoke at halftime, well, life's a dream

Mitch Rawson and somebody-May are the only other two names I can recall (other than Sam Brassingham, who played today). But even when the top-ups in past games haven't done enough to make me remember their names, they've still impressed me with their courage in contests. Two or three of them out there today just looked a bit scared to go after the ball. I recall one of the more promising thrusts through the midfield that resulted in a long kick to a two on one contest in our forward line. Both the Swans players watched while the one Magpie came through, attacked the ball and marked it despite starting in the worst position of all three.
No, none of those names were on the NSW/ACT team list. I think May is Matt May another of our scholarship holders. Another scholarship holder, Nathan Gordon did line up for the Rams as did one other familiar name, Luke Breust.

Not yesterday. It was around clearances in the middle that the team was well and truly smashed. Doubt Davis would have made much of a difference in that department. Fosdike might have - although it's not a role he often plays at senior level, in his reserves games this year he's been a clearance machine. Schmidt did his best yesterday but, despite being named in the best, I didn't think either Smith or Mathews gave him the support they are capable of providing at centre bounces. And the team yesterday didn't really have anyone else capable in that department. Brabazon isn't really an in and under contested ball winner, nor is MOD. Meredith might be - haven't seen enough of him to be able to tell - but he was injured early.

I really am surprised that we can lose these games though. Half of our side are elite athletes. You would think we would run the opposition off their feet after about half time.
