I also went to the game, pleasantly surprised I also think we can beat them in round one. However this handballing and kicking backwards on the defensive line has to stop for us to achieve anything, and although LRT did beat Kosi its interesting how many times LRT is in the middle of these atrociaous handballing games on the backline, just kick it forward and dont go backwards. Goodes looked bad dropped balls in warm up. Mumford will improve with the run as will Okeefe. Although MOD got a lot of the ball his disposal is aweful and I dont thing he is in our best 22.

Very suprised at the turnout last night, thought there would of been more.
- Good effort, some real pleasing things and some ordinary moments
- LRT & Heath Grundy had great games.
- Josh Kennedy did some smart stuff last night, wait till he gets fit.
- Seaby and Daniel Currie did some pretty good stuff and Mumford didnt have much impact
- Whoever said Gary Rohan wont play this year needs a reality check.Jetta was OK,not the gane of last week though he gives us the X factor.They must playRd 1
- Thought Marty Mattner,MOD and Jude had real good games.
- Macca ,Rhino and Goodsey had games to forget.Gwilt gave Goodesy a bath.
- Mike Pyke : Get used to driving around Canberra.The guy is a waste of time

- Seaby played really well 15 poss 1 goal - good pick up for us. Joked at 3 quarter time, that if we lose the game, he would have to pay the prize money out of his own pocket *chortles of laughter*

Thing is I reckon the umpie screwed up. Doesn't look like he sets the mark properly so it's hard to tell where it is but Seaby runs in a straight line toward the goal, so he shouldn't be called play on for deviating, and I reckon he doesn't go over the mark, goes close but not over, so it shouldn't have been play on and should've been a 9 pointer.

Devil's advocate for a moment:

Kennedy didnt take his chances
Goodes was sloppy and half-hearted at times
McVeigh couldnt get off the chain (without he and Goodes, we really did well)
Sumner didnt need that error

Basically, the emphasis this year is on speed and skill. I thought the speed was great, impressive and some early season glimpses were good, but I think players without skill under pressure will work on that in the 2s. Even Lewis had unnecessary clangers.

As a positive, Gary Rohan will play Round 1.

It's only the Ansett Cup.
I'm glad we're out of it now. Time to concentrate on Round 1.
