I fell out of love with Blind Barry a long time ago. Shortly after he signed his $2M contract - once he started to drop marks and kick behinds.

I've always felt that he was Rocket's love child. He loves Rocket more than he loved us.

But he referred to sat night's loss to the dogs a few times..I'm not sure it was taped a fortnight oe even four days ago!

He talked about the loss to the Bulldogs in a snippet from the interview during last night's On the Couch, which they replayed on AFL Insider. However, the show tonight also had part of an interview that was held a few weeks ago, of which they have been showing small clips of each week (the same as they did with an interview of Blues coach Ratten).

Not sure if anyone caught AFL Insider tonight, but they had more of the interview with Paul Roos that was recorded a couple of weeks ago (they showed sections of it last week too).

Tonight featured Roos' response to whether he had any regrets from his coaching career. He mentioned Barry Hall specifically and said that it was a real pity that he didn't finish his career with the Swans and had to leave, and that he felt that he had let him down (he also said that he had told this to Hall as well).

Bradshaw is usually a great kick, but for whatever reason his kicking last night was poor.

Maybe the reason might have been that he'd missed 2/3 of the season...

If we took our chances last night we would have won.

Similarly, the Doggies took their chances and did win. In a game decided by less than a kick, you can't put it down to any one thing. We you can, but the other team has equal right to claim similar incidents that could have - or, I guess did - win them the game. Carlton fans would have said the same stuff a week ago.

Big Barry was great and was probably the difference between the two sides. However much fun hypotheticals are tho, they ain't much use when you come to dealing with reality.

I'm pleased for Barry (our former premiership-winning captain) that he's found himself playing great footy again - but it doesn't mean anything for our footy club.

Correct Liz; for some reason we went wide. Both Kennedy and Jack were clear in the centre and went sideways to a lead far to the flank. At one point ROK was all on his own in the centre and calling for the ball but the defender ignored him and went wide.

The Dogs played at least one spare man in defence most of the night (at one point they only had four forwards but I suspect the extra was used as a spare midfielder). Would have been pointless to blaze away forward especially since out biggest bodied forward was sitting in the grandstand. That said, there were times when a bit more boldness might have been worth the risk.

Seconded. It was win-win for both clubs (well, except for the bit where the Bulldogs beat us in the semi-final. But the game was lost elsewhere)

In the end we lost last night because Hall was playing for the Bulldogs and not for the Swans. But, if Hall was playing for the Swans would we have been there at all?

The underlying premise of this thread is misguided and a cop out. We didn't lose last night because Barry Hall was playing for the Dogs. We lost last night because two of our supposedly best players butchered simple shots for goal. Our fortunes were entirely in our own hands. We had plenty of easy opportunities - enough to win the game - but we stuffed it through our own bad kicking. Goodes is always an unreliable set shot and was again last night (just as he was against the Blues). He is a great player in many respects but his set shots are not up to scratch. He may have been dropped, but I'd choose Bevo to kick for my life every time rather than Goodes. Bradshaw is usually a great kick, but for whatever reason his kicking last night was poor. I'd have been embarrassed to hit the post from 15 yards out on a still night and I'm a unidexter ffs. If we took our chances last night we would have won. That's all there is to it. The identity of the opposition full foward was utterly irrelevant.
