Right on. In today's game, Lockett's record is untouchable.
He was so imposing on the ground. Blind Barry's big shiela compared to Plugger.
I for one was pretty glad he was wearing R&W when he finished his career.

i was the one who mentioned hall just wanted a statistical compariosn of their time in sydney.
Plugger was a legend though obviosuly, just hally worked his butt off. Cant imagine plugger pusing up with the zone like they do these days.

All i remember was the midfield could butcher the ball in any old way and plugger would just get the thing, thought he came back too skinny in 2002 though, wish that comeback had of worked

There was a game vs Adelaide, at AAMI park maybe 2006.. when Goodes went to another level. he was unstoppable, one of the best quarters of football I've seen, right when the team needed it most. I think hes a better player now than in the mid naughties.. I'm not a betting guy, but I would put a fiver on him taking home the norm smith if we made it to a granny.

I know the one you mean, we lost by a kick or two. He was outstanding.

One of those ones that could be debated infinitely, but based on the grainy images I have seen of Skilton, If both were to be having their day, Goodes would come out on top....Goodes on his day will destroy anyone - even the revered GAblett....or anyone for that matter.

That said different times, different values - etc, etc.

Natural talent is undeniable - but I've felt he hasn't quite dominated enough games in the way his talent suggested he might. Although a few more quarters like Saturday night will change my mind - it was as if he lifted up a gear to a level no-one else had.

We also had another FF called Bob Pratt who kicked 150 goals 94 points in 18 games in 1934. Still holds the record for the most goals and most points in a season. I'd rate him higher than BBB.

I can't believe there are people on this thread trying to compare the GREATEST full forward of all time with Barry Hall. Loved Hall at the Swans but he isn't anywhere near Lockett. I think people need to go back and watch Tony destroy teams.

I was at a Swans Melbourne function with my pommy sister-in-law. It was toilet break time and everyone was congregating in the foyer. A gaggle of women were clustered around Barassi and the bloke standing next to my pommy sister-in-law said, "He could always do that!!!" My sister-in-law wanting to appear knowledgeable said, "Oh but he's a legend you know!" I looked over a saw she was talking to Bobby Skilton. he always seems to be undervalued

I can't believe there are people on this thread trying to compare the GREATEST full forward of all time with Barry Hall. Loved Hall at the Swans but he isn't anywhere near Lockett. I think people need to go back and watch Tony destroy teams. Yes he was a more dominant player for the sinners (kicked 10 or more goals on 22 occasions and averaged 7.27 in 89') but i believe he became a better overall player at the Swans. He is with Paul Kelly the greatest Swan i have seen.

Couldn't have put it better myself. Great player Hall, one of my favourites but not in the great man's class.

I often give that stat out (double figures 22 times), just incredible. 7 goals or more 72 times is also phenomenal.

Goodesy and Kelly were and in Goodesy case still is a super star but Skilts was something different fair enough he was great in an ordinary team but when he put on the Big V he was even better.
As far as captains go one of our best was Ricky Quade he was a real inspirational captain and someone that should be made a legend of the club this year.
Another player that had he played more games would be spoken in the elite class was Max Papley a real star.
