Here is a team for 2013, taking into account potential improvement in some players and the natural attrition (due to age/injury) of others.

    Goodes, Tippett, McGlynn
    Rohan, Reid, Lamb
    Jetta, Kennedy, Hanners
    Shaw, Grundy, Mattner
    Johnson, Richards, Smith

    Mumford, ROK, Jack

    Bench: LRT, Parker, Mitchell, Macca

    Other players
Jude - love him, but have a feeling age/injury may creep up on him. I hope not and he can take Mitchell's spot if form is good.
Mike - I couldn't put Mumford, Pyke, Tippett, LRT in the same side. Happy for Mike to replace any of these if form warrants it.
Morton - Loses his spot due to improvement of Lamb, Mitchell and Rohan.
    Mal - Will be thereabouts.
Bird - Very underrated player and will more than likely be ahead of Lamf & Mitchell, so don't know why I'm leaving him out.

The majority of other players on our list would be in the best 25 of at least 8 others sides, so they are stiff.

Have hopes for Towers and Membrey, so will be interesting to see how they go.

I agree Nico we would be fools to leave Pyke out and our selectors are not fools. LRT will probably play back. Look at his game in the finals when Reg was out. He was super and he showed just how comfie he is in the back half. I think we will be rotating players to play on particular targets this season. This is particularly pertinent to the back half. Reg has problems with the big strong forwards, LRT has been known to handle these guys pretty well. LRT will probably also do a double team on Buddy as well, we could well see the first backman on the interchange bench.

It looks a very strong line up and it is only going to get stronger if Membrey, Towers, Rohan and Cunningham are thrown into the mix early. Towers and Membrey are physically and match ready according to AFL.com and Rohan may not make it back early but will definitely be there sometime in Mayish at the latest. This squad is starting to resemble Lions of the Naughties.

Well I'm impressed with the depth. Hope we don't need it to much!

Would be interesting to see the ages of the players in a similar format.

Expect that Goodesy and Jude are at the launching pad, ROK and Marty (etc) are in the lineup. However the depth will be needed in 1-3 years and the how to hold onto them is the next big step.

With KT holding nearly 10% of the budget - better kick some goals IMO!
