He still has his name in both the record books and in the lockers - can't take that away from him.

    Agree.

Couldn't believe Sheahan didn't ask him about returning to the Swans in 1991. Kicked 38 goals in that season from 13 games and I believe he got dropped a couple of times.

Retired at 28. Makes you wonder how he'd be remembered if he'd stayed a Swan.

I thought the whole interview was genuine (in a Capper sort of way) but agree this was a facade-less revelation. The other moment of no-antics recall was his obvious sense of injustice at not being included in the Swans Team of the Century. He appeared genuinely hurt at the omission.

IMHO, he should have been on the bench at least. It would have been a tough decision on who he replaced but he would have been sensational at the end of the service the rest of that squad could've dished up.

I saw Capper kick nine sensational goals at Collingwood in 1987 to help the Bloods smash them by 91pts,a then record defeat by the pies at Victoria Park.......went home that night and checked two other records, the mighty Red and Whites hold the record attendance at their ground as well as still having the honour of holding our old enemy to their lowest score in their history 0.8 .....thats right just the 8 behinds.................made my day. Go Bloods.

Took great marks, kicked great goals( he kicked 192 goals in two seasons . Sure he had murphy , mitchell . healy , wlliams , wright feeding him the ball but he kicked them . He was a GREAT full forward . He won us plenty of games .
It was sad when he left to go to Brisbane , but who could blame him @ over $1m for 3 seasons, in an age when afl players weren't paid big money .
Yes, i have heard the Warwick stuff before .... but he has always been consistent in his version of events.... i take what he said as close to the money .
he has never backed away from giving an opinion , which should be respected in this day of 'no comment ' from afl players
he may play up to the cameras and talk in the third party and generally be annoying , but if you take him seriously all the time , well more fool you . He is irreverent , as is Sam Newman ,they like to have fun and be a showman....accept this and enjoy football .

I finally got around to watching this today. It was a good, genuine interview without spin. This is all too rare in modern footy coverage.

Always liked Capper as a player and chuckle at the way he takes the piss out of himself. I agree with his surmisation that the AFL could do with a few more "characters" such as he was.

    Do we have any today?
