As annoying as Eddie is, I and about 40 other Americans watching the game at my Grand Final Party, will be cheering for Mason Cox. There will be one Eagles fan however...

My son works for a few months each year in WA. He can't believe how little West Coast supporters know about the game. He says watching an Eagles game in the pub is entertainment in itself. In the WA paper there is rarely anything about clubs other than WA and Freo.

I know this might be heresy, but I don’t understand this line that West Coast stole the 2006 GF. The drugs involved were recreational rather than performance enhancing, weren’t they?

Coke gives you a lot of energy for a short time. And there were reports at the time that "Ben Cousins is amazing: he can push himself until he's throwing up on the sideline." And I'm sure that gang weren't thinking "Oh no, I couldn't touch that - it's performance enhancing not merely recreational." However, what really cost the Swans victory was that they didn't turn up in the first quarter.

Well, that article just makes me want Collingwood to win even more.....it's just a reminder of a bunch of dedicated model citizen footballers, our Swans, losing by ONE POINT to a bunch of druggie Weagle cheats playing for a club that was virtually complicit in that cheating through sheer and deliberate blind inaction. Go Pies!!

2006 is a bad memory but I am now over it. Easy to hate a team that included Cousins, Kerr, Gardiner (sacked during 2006 season), Chick, and Fletcher and the rest of their ilk but we also need to remember that team also had Seaby who subsequently played for the Swans and Cox who is now our ruck coach. No way could I support Collingwood as Eddie would be insufferable so it has to be some very luke warm support for the Eagles.
