    I wondered this as well.
Would be a shame not to see it used again.

How long was 14 empty after Kelly??

I think I read somewhere that our top draft pick often gets a number near a senior player of a similar position on the ground so they can feed off them at all times.
    Of recent years.
    Blakey Franklin
    Florent Kennedy
    Mills Jack
    Heeney Hannebury
    Ling Reid Sick Bay

    It'll be weird seeing new number 2, 4, 8, 16, 22 and 27. Numbers that haven't changed for a number of years

I've moved Ugg's post to a new thread because the new jumper numbers were getting a bit lost within the pre-season training thread (and because jumper numbers endure past pre-season).

I see the AFL site has decided to "make a thing" about Menzel taking over AJ's number, suggesting it is somehow cursed (though of course AJ wore 34 for most of his knee recos). It's maybe a good thing that they didn't pick up that Rhyce Shaw was the wearer of number two prior to AJ, and he was also a multiple ACL rupture sufferer (albeit only one of those was with the Swans).
