Another Crows point! Now Walker will have a shot.....and he gets it! Go Crows.......7 pts up......they should be 3 to 4 goals up. -
This quarter alone, a clear HTB in possession before Dunkley goal should have been paid against Dogs, and then a clear 50 should have been paid against Weightman for infringing in the area around the mark that would have walked the Crows to 25m out. Just rottenLeave a comment:

Crows are kicking themselves out of this......4 behinds in a row. Scores level, 23 minutes in.
Oh, another F/Pup free. 23 to 10 now......what? Crows just got one. Shock!Leave a comment:

If the Crows lose this, I can't imagine the Adelaide membership and press being as magnanimous about the lopsided free kick count as our club has been.Leave a comment:

In an interview on SEN, Weightman says receiving free kicks is part of a “skillset” that he looks to develop. He said “I think I do have an ability to draw free kicks and I think that’s a skillset rather than a flop or whatever you call that because there are skills you can do …" May be they have a good "coach" to teach these skills. That's why the Dogs are so good at getting free kicks.Leave a comment:

The continual Vic friendly umpiring, especially where the Fairypups are concerned, has to stop. 22 to 9 well into the last. We are back to 2016 levels of bias.
Dogs are now in front
......watch the umps protect their lead now. Will we hear any Victorian journo question the free kick count if the Dogs win a close one with more than double the oppositions frees? Nah......

Bit conflicted with today's game....Crows 10 pts up, 10 minutes into the last.
Who am I kidding? Go Crows!!Leave a comment:

A throw, a HTB non call and a non call on holding all favour the Dogs late in third leading to a goal. Just absurdLeave a comment:

Encouraging to see the Crows matching it with the Poodles at half time. Let's hope Nicksy can get them over the line!Leave a comment:

I didn't see the match but that sounds like a succinct and worthy analysis.Leave a comment:

I only saw the second half, but it seemed to me that the Giants played rope a dope on themselves. With St Kilda having one ruckman out of the game and the other hobbling badly, it looked like the Giants tactics were to bomb it long to a contest, thinking that if they didn't take a mark, then they should be able to move it on, by winning a clearance from an ensuing ruck. They seemed quite uninterested in running to space and finding a loose player.
Which played into the hands of the Saints. Because of the predictability of the Giants' ball movement, the Saints were able to further crowd the contests. Which enabled players like Crouch and especially Steele to come to the fore. And when the Saints got the ball, they showed more desire to spread the ball and enough flair to score the occasional goal. Which was enough to beat a Giants side, that only partially used the talent at their disposal.Leave a comment:

Round 6: the other games. ANZAC round.
Giants hanging in there.
Commentary is aggravating, apart from Daisy Pearce. “JB” is more annoying than BT, with his pseudo-bonhomie style.Last edited by Kafka's Ghost; 22 April 2022, 10:22 PM.Leave a comment:

The Giants are playing half hearted football .
Too many turnovers, fumbles and dropped marks .They used to play with much greater intensity and flair.
Toby not having a big influence .Leave a comment:

A brilliant write up as always.
Weirdly looking forward to tonight’s game. I’ve said before on here that you give me one young player in comp to nick it is Ben King. Max ain’t far behind. The pair of them are going to absolutely terrorise oppositions for the next decade.
And go Gold Coast - for the sake of your sanity.Leave a comment:
