Just finished watching the Fox Footy feature on Tiger. For those who won't get a chance to see it, it ended up being quite an emotional little doco by the end there.
It began following Tiger on his joyous return to Ireland, where he really was a bit of a rock star, and then continued on to cover his father's death.
You really got a sense of the bond he had with his dad. And also just how hard his death really hit him.
They did a tribute to his father's footy career showing footage from his playing days. There was footage from his dad's funeral which I hadn't seen before. And there was a brutally honest moment where Tiger admitted that for a while he actually hated "this place" (quoted while he was at the SCG) because in a sense "this place" had seperated him from what ended up being the last 6 years of his dad's life.
The Doco followed his journey right through until his mum and sister came out for the Brisbane game to help him decide on his future. And ended with the conference where he announced his decision to stay for another three years.
It finshed with a fantastic slow motion shot over the credits. You see Tiger sitting in a community hall in Ireland holding the Premiership medal - and a hand cames from just off the screen and gently strokes the back of his neck. The camera pans out and you see that the hand belongs to his dad.
Moving stuff.
