    Quite simple, we don't rate.

Also, we have asked for Saturday night games.

Also FNF is seen as the highest rating program for the AFL, in terms of viewer numbers and sponsors revenue, would they still be able to get that with Sydney?
So they are scared of going up against the NRL on a friday night yet think that Western Sydney is finally ready for another team.

@@@@ the AFL baffle me most times.

That was one of my concerns at the announcement of the new teams.

FFS, we only get one page in Sunday's paper. I think there's an inch or two sometimes in the daily horror (don't know - don't read it).

Sydney is soooooooooooo ready for another team.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

The main benefit of no Friday night games is not having a short break between rounds. I'm sure the football department are happy with Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons.
We demand rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty.

All about ratings and commercial value. NRL has a lock on Friday night games in Sydney, pure and simple.

If you think it's because the members voted not to, you are seriously deluded.

Personally, Friday night games are the best games. Especially if you work in the city.
Obviously you didn't read post 5!

I was trying to work out why channel 7 were playing benny hill show after the news and before the afl so it is now 30mins later on Friday than previous years.

THen I worked out that they are waiting for the league to finish before the afl comes on. Pretty stupid if you ask me, at that stage of the game, they may get people switching between the end of the league and onto afl, and might even take an interest if its on tv! If they have to wait up to watch it, they're not going to.

    Piss weak from 7.
