The odds of one of these great coaches with high profiles becoming the first coach of Western Sydney would have to be pretty big one would think.
Thoughts?

Swannies for life!
I think someone like Sheedy would be fantastic just from a profile perspective and his efforts in growing the game. As far as the actual coaching side goes, well it might not translate to results, especially with the talk of the game evolving and leaving the older coaches behind....but the personality is what would be most critical initially IMHO.
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.
Sheedy would be wonderful, he'd create media interest by his appointment then would continue to keep it going with his antics. He's all for AFL expansion too.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Great news - Sheedy to coach Western Sydney Canberra Bogan Pollies
I just heard that Kevin sheedy is to coach the western Sydney team what about that for a pick for a coach I couldn't believe it when I heard it
They did need a high profile. I look forward to Sheeds "promoting" the game.

Told youse this news back in June. Now you're all surprised!!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
We should never have doubted you Annie. http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/rfn...614964519.html

Just read in this mornings Telegraph, Sheedy has signed a three year deal as head coach of GWS. Unbelievable coup for them. This will give them a major injection of credibility.
Can you tell us the winner of the Sandown Classic!!!!!
Yep, no great surprise on the appointment, will be interesting to see who gets the assistants as they'll be carrying the club forward post 2012, can't see Sheedy staying on longer than that............... as head coach at least.
Baaaaaaaaaa, hum bug!
How about the assistant coaches now?
With Sheedy appointed as coach, the greater west of Sydney is about to get a martian invasion. Very good appointment and if someone can pull this off he can. He always spoke about a second Sydney team and now he would be excited to go down in history as the first coach.
Plenty of nuff nuff's out west.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.
