I'd prefer Smith on him and Jack on one of the slippery small forwards. Or Goodes and Judd head to head like the old Sydney V WC duals.

Surely we'd have Smith on Betts or one of the other small forwards? I hope it's not Goodes on Judd - we need Goodes free and he rarely won those battles anyway.

My logic for having Smith on Juddy is that if they can't get the ball in the middle their forwards won't be as much of a threat, and Smith is easily our best shut down player

Isn't Judd a protected species (see Ablett precedent)?
Mummy would be out for 3-4 weeks if he laid a decent tackle on Precious!

Good point.... I wouldn't mind seeing Smithy have a crack at him. He has been fantastic all year and deserves a crack at a really big scalp.

Carlton will use Gibbs on Goodes. He's towelled Goodesy up on more than one occasion, so I reckon that match up is set in stone.

I wonder if it'd be worthwhile starting Goodes forward then do a Pav and move to the midfield then forward again.

Why bother to move him forward? Do you think this will fool Carlton or something ? While he is forward we are short changed in the middle. This move could cost us goals. This season has shown Goodsey,a great player is not suited to KPF. Start him in the middle, keep him in the middle and finish him there. We have to build a new forward structure which hopefully soon will include LJ .I have confidence the selectors and coaches will come to similar conclusions soon .

Can't wait for teams - got the complaint form in my clipboard just waiting to be filled out.

I'm also both punching myself in the groin, and thinking of all the fair dikim jobs boat people are taking off tru blu Aussies, to get the outage and bile building.

Reckon about those boat people. Is it true that both Pyke and Tadhg arrived on a cruise and have just stayed and stayed? What about playing Aussie kids instead of them and they can get out and start a Christmas Is/Nauru/Timor AFL round robin running?
