Thread: Sam Reid Debut

  1. #25
It was a very impressive debut. I doubt we'll see him play again this week though, which is understandable. Giving him a game before the season ended, be it by good luck or good management, should be an excellent boost along for his confidence and development. He looks very good.

Re: nickname. I know the spelling of the surname is different, but I'll put in an early vote for "Lou"

Harti what are you doing to me? Do you want him to play or not?

I want him to have a chance of being selected,to be considered seriously. ! My opinion would be don't play him in the intensity and hard attack on the body game of an AFL final. I am not super convinced I am right though but I doubt if he will hold his place anyway with those big 3 coming back in.

Ok but I think he would do well against the Blues. They are just not that big. Probably wouldn't play him against Cats/Dogs unless he had a blinder against Blues though.

True, the blues aren't excactly the hardest footy side going around. I'd like to see him in against the blues. As long as we have a win, it doesn't bother me too much either way.

He shouldn't play in front of any of the players that could come back in.

The intensity and physicality of finals is a massive change to him playing Brisbane with one eye on Mad Monday.

Agree with all above comments about Sam, but none more than this one.

And in defence of Jesse, we were heaping similar praises on him about this time last year.

Still, quite aside from the possibility of having a young gun-forward, I'm really tickled about the possibility of Collingwood thinking they got the wrong one
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

When Sam grows into those shoulders he is going to one impressive unit.
How much did he look like he belonged?

His brother is 195cm, 99kg and Sam is 194cm, 88kg so if that is any indication, he's got growth in him.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.
