Spirits are high in Sydney for the Pies game, to be sure. I even had a wino crumpled into an abandoned doorway off Oxford St notice my Swans cap the other day, and he bellowed slurredly "we better beat them [expletiveexpletiveexpletive] Pies this year!"

I think that was the bloke who had a bet in 2005 that the Pies wouldn't beat us for another ten years....

Pies aren't travelling so well. Boys will be so pumped to beat them, hopefully we'll treat them the way Carlton did a few weeks ago! There aren't too many hoodoos left after this great season, but those we have would be nice to tick off in order: pies next week, and then beat the crows AND bury the MCG one in the same special match in late September! We've gotta have dreams hey!

And for the superstitious among us (which is pretty much everyone I guess when it comes to dreaming of winning the flag), the last time we beat the filth was in 2005 (hard to believe isn't it)! Beat them next week and the planets keep moving into alignment for us!

Just fell short . . . shame. Crows got lots of help from the home town umps. Surprise surprise. Maybe Freo can do a number on the Crows next week? They seem to have figured out how Rossy Lyon wants them to play and they seem pretty competent at it now

Bring it on! Really disappointed to not be getting up the highway for this one (have to build up the brownie points with the better half for hopefully a very busy September!). They've had the wood on us for a long while, but we are a different beast this year!
