Thread: Good luck to the Norwood Swans!

Good luck to the Norwood Swans!

Few ex-Swans involved in the SANFL granny for Norwood today. Simon Phillips, Dean Terlich, Kane Murphy. Stephen Doyle assistant coach. Robbie Neill will likely be there as he is is the U16 coach. Possibly Bob Hammond too.
Maybe Crouchy & Reg will still have some interest in their former clubs prospects today too
Good luck to all of Norwoods former Swans today!

Ok then, former Swans Troy Grey, Dion Miles, Gavin McMahon all had a boot in the Westies camp in the late 1990s, & Jeff Bray played for both in the 1960s (Tim Symes was drafted by Sydney but never played senior footy there & ended up at Westies ... & at a stretch former Sydney full forward Daniel Bradshaw's brother Darren played at Westies)

    Go Westies??

The Royal Exhibition Hotel in Surry Hills will be showing the GF live (from 4pm), if you want to see the Redlegs' Swans players boot West out of the park. :-)

Norwood win by 8 goals! Terlich game high 31 possessions, Simon Phillips 1.3. Doyley got to experience a premiership at last, even if not as a player. So every Swan who played in the 2006 GF that didn't play in 2005 has now been involved in a premiership.

It wasn't me, someone else pointed it out in another thread earlier in the week! It was really spooky that Malceski won us the game with a snap towards the city end, when he kicked the last goal in 2006 in similar fashion. As soon as the Hawks rushed a behind that put us in front 79-78 with plenty of time to go, I had a feeling that the guys who were there in 2006 would find something extra to ensure they didn't experience the same heartbreak again.
